I have used GB through the years as well as other forums to sell and to buy rifles, pistols, scopes, etc.
About 4 months ago they got my account all messed up and I have spent hours back and forth with them trying to get it straight. It is still messed up.
Has anyone else experienced problems with them recently or am I just the "lucky one"?
I have a Pedersoli RB 45-70 to sell, but I can't list it. 
I have been on ASSRA since 2018, but never made comments. So until I get more active I can't post for sale on ASSRA either.
I have enjoyed using ASSRA as a resource only so far. I guess its time I became active conversationally.

You should be selling stuff like that here. I used Guns International recently to sell some stuff (not the kind of thing that is welcome or likely to garner much interest here). GB has become ridiculous as a buying resource. By the time you make it to being the high (often very high) bidder, paying crazy shipping fees, and the tacked on state tax (for me 8% plus GB's 1% "compliance fee"  Roll Eyes), and a dealer transfer fee, if necessary, it gets to be foolish.
Not to mention a 3+% credit card fee most charge these days. I even saw one seller who ONLY takes credit cards and still charges the 3%! It's a racket.

Anyway, for any gun over about $300, GI's up front single fee, makes a lot more economic sense for sellers.

As soon as I get enough posts that is my plan. I have many single shot shooting buddies that talk all the time about ASSRA.

Well they finally got their act together and allowed me to post my Pedersoli.

GB is often a rip off.  I bid on a BRC Borchardt a couple months ago.  Auction ended, I was told I won.  Seller contacts me the next day to say he got a higher bid on another website.  I let GB know, and they just said "bummer".

I like GI a lot better.  Make your deal or move on.

I have used Gun Broker for many years. Never had a problem with them.  There are still straight up dealers like Larry Eissal (Eissal Armory, please forgive the spelling) selling there at reasonable prices.

I’ve bought & sold a lot (around 300 to date) of firearms on GunBroker, some on Guns International, a few on GunsAmerica & a few on GunsAuction.  I’ve never had a problem with any of the above from a selling or buying perspective.

As a seller GunBroker certainly has the highest fees & they collect sales tax but GunBroker has the wider audience by far & they’re an auction site which tends to maximize the sales price.  Also keep in mind, since GunBroker charges sellers around 3.8%, a firearm that sells for $2,000 (the average of most of the rifles I sell) costs the seller $76 for the final value fee, plus the seller is responsible for collecting the appropriate sales tax as determined by GunBroker.  The seller is then billed for the sales tax amount along with the final value fee.   

If you’re selling a high $ firearm & know what it’s worth Guns International is the site to use since they only charge $15/listing & don’t collect sales taxes, but you may leave some $’s on the table.  As a buyer Guns International may or may not be the best site depending on the asking price of the firearm, but you can always make an offer since it’s not an auction site.  Of course you can also make offers on GunBroker as long as no one has placed a bid.  Once a bid is placed on a GunBroker item the seller is required to sell to the highest bidder.

As a buyer any of the sites listed are good but to some extent caveat emptor applies to all, some more than others.  From my perspective GunBroker has the strongest protection for both buyers and sellers but as noted you will be required to pay sales tax.

I buy on Proxibid auctions mostly. There sellers will list their items in 2-3 auctions simultaneously. So while I think I'm high bidder, "my" item may get a higher bid elsewhere. Same as you describe. Widespread practice.
