Stevens 44 .32 S&W Long

I finished my 44 parts gun in .32 S&W Long last week and test fired it this morning. It worked flawlessly. The frame I had was in the white when I bought it so I did a faux color case hardening on it, turned out okay I guess. The barrel was originally a .25 rimfire from a different rifle that I had re-bored. The stock is a little under sized at the wrist, but it was the better of the two original ones I had. I would of had it done a little sooner but I had to make a firing pin as the original one was a little too short, I used a centerfire block that Lee Shaver makes.

I left the original finish on the stock and forearm, and the bluing on the barrel also. The action was rebuilt with new link pins. The original link was hardened with Kasenit.

What a great choice for a 44.  Looking forward to hearing about how it shoots

Didn't know anybody was making new 44 breechblocks!  What did that one cost you?

eBay buy at $225, they came with new breech block/lever pins and retaining screws. A bit pricey but worth it for a hard to find original part.
