You just have to Love the use of that piece of rail road track. 
Also makes one also wonder how hard it was to actually tap.

I bought a chunk of I-beam about that size from the old Boeing surplus yard when they used to sell to folks.  It's aluminum, but I could add a nice slab of lead on each side.  And, I do have a very nice HW with a 1.25" barrel in, (audience gasps) 32-40 laying on the floor in the corner.

I am actually buying a Schuetzen  rifle (HW) not chambered in the 32-40.  A 38-55.  And looking, at a Stevens-Pope in 28-30.  

Diversification coming late...

Actually looks like the scope mount was epoxied and or soldered when being enlarged. 
And where is the barrel did Ron actually cut rifle that piece of RR Track same as he did with the Rebar rifles.

Would have been interesting just to see the setup for turning and threading the tenon for installing the action. 
Anyone happen know the Rockwell Hardness for work hardened Railroad Track?
