Is it actually an adjustable bullet breech seater?

Looks like a total pita to use (think the ones I sell are much more convenient). If you need that much leverage to chamber a cartridge then I would suggest you have a problem that needs to be addressed beyond simple fouling or a bit too much OAL.

To me, the seater's acme threads also bespeak a need for more force/leverage than should normally be necessary.  Indeed very interesting, but perhaps potentially more problematic than most shooters would care for.

Refreshing to see something DIFFERENT!

I wonder if an adaptation to the concept of using something threaded could be done?  There are methods of being able to slide freely and then engage the threads at just the point where needed.

What am I missing here gentlemen?  When I click on the thread link I get a pile of parts from every Sharps model except a Borchardt.

No tool, just a rat rifle.

The link takes you to a listing on Guns Int'l and one of the pic's shows the breech of the listed Sharps with the cartridge seater installed in the open action.

That seller gets an AAA+ for the description detail! I wish they were all that precise.

Very interesting design indeed!  It's got wheels turning in this little pea-brain, with the mechanical advantage of the threads, possibly  a multi-lead thread, a simple twist of a handle to a stop, hmmm...

Thanks for sharing.

Maybe the screw pushes a flanged head against the cartridge base, until it's stopped by the breech end of the barrel.
I'd love to see the entire tool.

It looks as though interupted threads would speed up the process, and still have the strength to seat difficult cartridges. Good and interesting concept for difficult to seat rounds, but not for timed events!!!
