Miroko High Wall 6.5 Creedmoor Accuracy Potential

I have purchased a  Miroko 1885 High Wall in 6.5 Creedmoor but do not yet have it in hand.   What accuracy have you been enjoying with this rifle??  What is its potential?

I have not yet bought reloading equipment for this caliber and I ask in order to  determine what level/quality of reloading dies I should buy.

TNX, Eric

I don't have one of the newer HiWalls but have several of the Browning clones which are identical I would imagine.  My 25-06 with a 26" octagon barrel is a true moa rifle, and the one I have in 300 H&H is almost as good.  I would buy match quality brass if possible.  I also think that quality bullets are called for unless this is to be a hunting rifle like mine are.  I use regular full length sizing dies and seat with Vickerman in-line dies.  Tom

I would bet quite good.  I once had a Miroku 1885 in .270 Winchester and it was a really good rifle.  It did put ten shots into an inch at 100m.  The rifle was likely better than that is I owned it well before I understood some of the subtleties of shooting really well.

An extremely popular cartridge these days and I would expect the accuracy to be excellent as well. As it is also a quite popular long range competition cartridge that demands the very best in accuracy.

The Creedmore seams to be one of those inherently accurate cartridges and I would expect exceptional results with some load development. A good set of Redding bushing dies (or similar) or some Wilson straight line dies with appropriate bushes would be the way to go. Plus there are some really good Factory loads available if you are not going to shoot it that much (may be better to spend on ammo than dies??). Whilst related to those evils bolt guns there is a really good series of articles/tests on Factory ammo by Cal Zant on preisionrifleblog.com.

I'd do my load development neck sizing with the standard dies adjusted out before spending the long money on custom dies, but I'd think if the rifle is showing enough promise a single shot probably benefits from a custom FL die more than a bolt gun.
