Another CPA 22 LR

My (well deserved I might add) Xmas gift to myself). Just received pic's of my new CPA Stevens 44 1/2 receiver after engraving. Gail will be putting it together with a 26" stainless Bartlein barrel with 5R rifling, loop lever & silhouette wood. Hope to have for this summer's matches.

Very nice, hope it shoots as well as it looks. Am sure Gail and Co will do a nice job of putting the rest of it together.

What kind of finish will it have? Case colored or possibly the Metalife french gray type of finish.

Thank you, all.
Will be a traditional bone-charcoal case-color finish and maple wood. Think the somewhat lighter color maple will go well with the stainless barrel.

I couldn't let Glenn get a leg up on me. Just got word today that a Stevens 044 1/2 was ready at the engraver. I've had this action for about 40 years and finally decided to do something with it. It will be a 22 L.R. My piece of wood is outstanding.

Very nice rifles both of you!
Is the 044 1/2 getting a new barrel and wood too?
I have an original 044 1/2 in 22lr and it is very light weight and quite small next to my 44's.

The barrel and wood are already fitted. The barrel is a new old stock Stevens 416 X barrel and the wood is an exceptional piece that I've had as long as I've had this action. I always thought they belonged together. No more pictures until it is completed. The completed rifle will weigh about 8 lbs, a little light for competition but should be a joy to shoot. I won the AAA class in 22 BPCR at Raton one year with my Maynard and it only weighed about 8 lbs.

Looks like both rifles are going to be nice to look at when done. What kind of chambers will they have?
Cheers Richard

John has a match chamber reamer of some sort and I'll be shooting whatever CPA has for a reamer.
