As my load is only 61 gr of powder I doubt if I'm getting much over 2000 fps.
Mike.

If you are shooting smokeless powder and a light jacketed bullet........... maybe.
With black powder you won't be very close to 2000fps. With 61gr of 2F Swiss and a 400gr bullet I'm getting under 1300fps from a 30" long 16" twist 40-65.

Sorry about the typo I meant 1200fps not 2000 fps, old age is a curse.

I tried wheel weights (no longer available) with 2% tin and it shot very well out of a sharps 40-65.   Also tried paper patch...(see the book,  The Practical Paper Patched Bullet by Matthews).
