This is the last Ballard Schuetzen I built some 3 or 4 years ago after acquiring a nice D.S. trigger action in a trade. This barrel is a Win. #4 wt. full octagon 28” hosting a TJ liner w/a match chamber.
I fitted it up as a take down with an off-center shank with the intention of adding a center fire barrel in the near future. When completed this will allow the barrels to be switched with just a screwdriver & a allen head wrench in five minutes. The set screw is on the right side of the receiver ring at the barrel shank.
It seems I stocked this rifle with the attitude of “I don’t need no stinking cheek piece”, but then I’ve always been of the opinion that stock comb height is every bit as important as a cheek piece on an offhand stock!
