Two traditional .17 cal. S.S. Varmint Rifles
      These two are both “Wildcat” Chambers, both lined w/ liners from turned down Douglas 1 in 10” bbl. blanks. The M85 Win. is a .17 Super Max. Essentially a .17 Rem. w/a rim based on the .357 max.case in .17 cal. For field use I prefer the Hornady V-MAX 20 & 25 grn.bullets. I can get 4500 fps w/ the 20 grn. & the groups stay in 1/2” @ 100 yds. (& reach the target too!)
   The bottom Stevs. 441/2 is the second .17 HeBee ever built (circa 1997). My standard load in this one is the 20 grn. Hornady Z-Max over 15.5 grns. of Re #7 for 3850 fps. W/ the Bee case holding up for 7 to 9 firings on average. Both rifles have Leupold fixed 10x scopes.
   Not counting shooting Prairie Dogs this Stevs .441/2 .17 HeBee has prob. had more time in the field than the rest of my varmint rifles added together & has accounted for around 20 coyotes. I have  noticed the last few years though my tendency is to go with one of my .20 cal.rifles. And now the main prob. is finding some bullets!

  I have always loved the .17s ,, that incredible speed equates to a lot of action upon impact.
   Many decades ago I received a .17rem for my 12th Christmas.
