	Agreed! Nothing worse than a tripod that's shaky. Mine was a swap meet find that's heavy, and extremely stable. Plus it has a cool quick release plate to allow the scope to be removed easily.

	It was just a joke guys. I have a spotting scope. I picked up the little tasco a few years. It sucks, but kind of looks cool.

	Nice looking. Just purchased an NOS (new - old stock) Star D Pro (not the Davidson model) from someone cleaning out their camera studio after retirement for $35 plus shipping. As they say, better to be lucky than good (especially as my good scores are all based on luck ).

I read it again, no, no joke. I use a Focal scope I got off ebay for seventy bucks this summer. You use a Tasco. Looks really steady. I'm jealous.

	A simple but very sturdy bench scope stand from an inexpensive pipe clamp. Top of the pipe was re-threaded to 7/8 - 14 as was the mounting plate. Spotting scope is a Busnell variable and up to 30X. Bought it back in the early 70's and having looked through several high end scopes. I have to look through one as clear as this especially in heavy mirage and shooting a 25 bullet at 200 yards. More than once I have spotted bullets for someone else using a $3000.00+ spotting scope. It cost me a $100.00 at the time and at half of the selling price. I do miss not having the angled eye piece but the way that I set it up I actually don't even need it. I also adapted the adjustable top that came with the three legged stand for field use. 	I bought a new vortex razor angled scope. Im using the 22x long eye relief MOA reticle eyepiece for offhand. I got a nee NRL 22 rig to shoot this summer. I have gone MIL on all my new scopes. I guess that meand a mil reticle eyepeice now..... still need the MOA for sillhouette. I told my woman the tripod was for her since she would be spotting for me in 22bprc.she didnt think it was funny.

	Dave, Don't tell me my 4 pr 5 Bogen tripods ars worthless? I still see shooters at the range with POS tripods. I use a pony clamp similar to Johns with a tripod head mounted on it. I bring a spare scope to Spokane with a nice tripod to snoop on the other shooters. Jack

	I have a Bushnell just like John L's. Optics are pretty good, and the armored housing makes it durable. In the thirty-five or forty years I've had it I never regretted the purchase. Mounted on a moderately good tripod, It's just right for me. Can see bullet holes down to 6mm out to two hundred. Also have an old Tasco that has surprisingly good clarity. No scope snobbery in me, if it's decent and cheap, it's perfect.

	My scope is very old late 50's or early 60's Kowa 25x. When I contacted Kowa to ask about a higher magnification eyepiece they told me mine was the first style spotting scope they ever offered! Still excellent optics, but stuck with 25x as nothing newer fits the scope body.

	Been using a Slik video tripod from the mid-80's since, well, the mid-80's. Very sturdy. I will admit to its un-handiness at ranges where benches are tight together. I like the setup JLouis showed us, having seen similar setups before. Might have to try that, and I can see where it could do double duty as a powder measure mount also.
