Dellet,
What is the twist? VERY slow if I had to guess. I’d be really tempted to reline or rebore to 32 cal.

I have sewer pipe bore tip up in 38 centerfire.the bore is generous(.363) but with .358 hollow base Hornady wadcutters rolled in Lee alox it will shoot 3" at 50 yards often.Mine has the simple fixed sights though.

Mine is a Rimfire.  Figured I can just leave it as that rather than converting to Centerfire.  Going to be one of those Let's take her out for a little fun rifles.  Time to cast a lap and see what happens.  David

Sorry Boomer, I either missed this or was chasing some other shiny object.

The twist is 1/26ish I think. It’s a 26” barrel and I can not quite get a full twist, BUT, there is a spot in the barrel where the rifling is almost completely gone. No matter what I do, the jag or even a brush wrapped with a patch slips.

I have thought about a rebore or liner, but then would probably want to put a scope on it to take advantage of the potential.

As it is right now, I set it up in a Pope style front rest and using a Lee 311-100 sized to .307” it will actually shoot about 1 3/4” at 50 yards at 700 fps.
8/10 on a 2” spinner off the front porch and a set of bags works fine for me. Grin

I’d hate to buy a decent mold, then good sights and ruin all the fun by having high expectations. But if a correct tang sight should present itself.......

Does anyone know which tang peep sight would fit the old model 14 Stevens falling block 22lr? This is the Model 14 with the 1 piece stock, not the Model 14 1/2. I picked up a very nice one but the stock has the inlet and screw holes for a sight but it is missing...
