The Bald Eagle front windage runs out of elevation adjustment to shoot at Tommy Mason's Stars & Stripes Schuetzen range.

Four inch leg extensions provide the additional elevation for me to shoot there.

When you rest on the forearm instead of the barrel you do not need as much elevation adjustment.

Congratulations Joe, specially since you do not profess to be a benchrest shooter.

It is interesting many BP shooters (who still have good eyes) shoot better with iron sights and prefer them instead of using the traditional scopes.

Thank you, Farrell.

FYI, I did not use the 32-40 Krag in the Jim Gier match. Had it there for a spare.
50 gr BP creates a little to much fouling for a blow tube to handle so more load developement is needed. Thinking 40 grains and PuffLon for a filler.  The fun never ends.  Wink

I think there may be some that are under the assumption the Jim Gier Memorial match was bench-rest. It isn't. It is 100 shots all offhand. It's also straight black powder.

Good shooting Wes!

Take care,
Ted

Thanks Ted.

It used to be BP only.  Any powder now.

We shoot like men in Butte.  Except with roaring fires in the stoves keeping us warm and cooking our sausage lunch.

Congratulations on your win Trent.

Those stoves are great except for that one year when it was 27 degrees below zero when we shot. They kept us alive but I'm not sure about warm.

Butte is a great place to shoot and a great bunch of people to shoot with. Without Trent and Butch we wouldn't have the pleasure of shooting there.

I missed the Jim Gier Memorial this year because of the China virus. Angry It was the first time in 20 years I have not been there. I truly missed it.  Cry

Congratulations  Wes, our club has a Shiver shoot in January,  steel target match and for the last 25 years I will be the only one shooting BP, and usually will be the one to beat!
Love it!
