Strange Swiss Martini .22 chamber

Look at this odd radius rim area.
Also the darn thing barely extracts a round.Eley sticks in the chamber. Only cci standard seems to work ok. a fingernail is needed to extract.i took it apart and all parts seem to be working as they should? Is it just the way these work. My BSA International rifles(click and fling them out) and model 12 rifles extract wonderful.

cbashooter,

It looks similar to a Winder Musket's kicking extractor, is there a place in there for a spring of some kind?

PS Nice Rifle!

Spring under the extractor.the block pushes on it for the extraction force.
Here is a round in the chamber .Notice the gap on the lower part.the case is flowing into that and comes out at an angle and that's where the brass flows.

Not really sure what it is that you are trying to point out?

I just like the design, not too much needless decoration like many of the Swiss rifles we see, keep it simple I guess.

See deep recess radius.Base flows into extractor  recess on bottom causing many cases to swell a bit and stick..

better picture attached.

Odd shaped rim recess. Looks tapered and to deep. Parkenfarker?

An attempt to aid chambering the round as it moves off the breech block trough?

Additional pictures helped allot. It is abit strange and as Joe says maybe abit to deep? Doesn't appear to have much back bevel if any. So it does not pinch the case as the back edge grows in height as it rotates back. Does it leave such a mark on an extracted case. A blackened case might also help to see such a mark and just another hopefully helpful thought.

About 1 in 20 cci standard will separate.they do extract though. Eley sticks in chamber 100% of the time.
Look at tje fired cases.the rims tilt and case a bit out if shape .

I suspect Mr Parkenfarker has fadiddled with that rifle.
There is a German rifle in Munich with the same problem.

Herr Parkenfarker?

It bums me out because it's quite accurate
Being that the block /firing pin is able to flip to CF I may just punch it out to  5.6x35R Vierling

Or maybe order some RCC 22 reloadable cases as they are thicker and may hold up.
I have a 3 cavity Brooks heel mold for the .22 bullet.
