Rare scope on e-bay

Just noticed a Arthur Hubalek scope for sale on e-bay. Interesting to me at least. Used Lyman mounts, and appears he used something similar to Feckers focusing method. Priced way out in space, but if all straight, a very rare scope.

At first thought two scopes, then looked back at photographs on e-bay, same scope, back to one!! It would sure look at home on a nice Hubalek rifle. Thanks for posting the photo Kurt, haven't a clue how to do that.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

No idea if that's a fair price or not as nothing similar to gauge it by? I guess if you're a collector of rare scopes a Hubalek would have to be in your collection.

I just spoke with a friend who informed me that he in fact has another, and that there were supposedly one hundred or so made by Hubalek. Not as rare as I would have thought, but certainly not common. An Axel Peterson, Adolph Niedner, or others of that ilk, are probably as or more rare. A nice piece of firearm history regardless. Gary Quinlin (sp) could, I am sure, shed more light on the subject. I am not aware if he posts on this site.

I would have gladly bought one at that price.

A Hubalek Scope would look very nice on my Hubalek barreled Ballard. I would love to find one in nice shape to show with the rifle.

The scope sold for $1750.  I too would like one to top off a Hubalek Ballard in 34-40 ish, but not willing to invest that kind of money, somebody was!!!
