Uberti low wall ejector

Hello everyone!

I have a Uberti Low wall that I am thinking about re-barreling. If I do so, would it be possible/feasible to install an ejector spring? Anyone ever do it?
Thanks!

Why do you want one of them? Never owned a repro, but all the originals I ever owned would pop a case out with enough vigor if I just snapped the lever down with a bit of emphasis. Oh, I forgot my .22 which does have a sprung extractor, but not very strongly.

It probably can be done but I’m not sure it’s worth the effort.  In addition to having to drill a hole through the face of the action and then square it up, you will likely have to modify your extractor.  Then you have to make a relief cut on your forearm for the extractor screw.

Finally, when all that is done you may not be all that happy with the results.  I have several originals and none of them are all that impressive ejecting the case with complete reliability.

Ruger No 1 is an exception, ejects with authority, or just barely. Retro fitting may make things somewhat more complicated as has been stated, and never found a need, unless I had a chance to hunt Cape Buffalo, Lion etc.

I have an original High wall musket with the ejector spring and I like the way it works, however, I am not willing to open a Pandora's box to put one in the Uberti replica. Extraction is not a problem so I guess I wont fix it if it isnt broke.
Thanks for the replies!
