I am getting a 1894 barrel off my Stevens re-lined to a 22LR and my question is:  do I need to find a breech block in 22LR and extractor to complete the conversion?

I can't speak for a 94 action but I can for the 044 1/2.  Gail at CPA told me that there was a 50/50 chance of the firing pin on a 25 rimfire breechblock working for a 22 rimfire with the 044 1/2.  She said sometimes they do and sometimes they don't, and that the only way she could evaluate the potential of my rifle (which is a 25 rimfire) working with a 22 was to look at it.  This might be the same situation with your rifle but I would give Gail a call as she is a wealth of knowledge and very helpful.

Guess I'll wait until the barrel comes back.  Thanks.

You are going to need a new extractor, otherwise the fired .22 case will bulge, and when loading, the .22 round will slip past the extractor easily and jam the rifle. For best results and accuracy the extractor should be fitted carefully at the chamber. I think you will probably need a .22 breech block also, but you might luck out and have the .25 rimfire one work okay.
