Martini Cadet, Martini Henry

Print Post
I am retired from the gun business now, so I have time to dedicate
To my Martini projects.
I am looking for a set of blueprints, paper or computer disk, for the Cadets, and Henries.
Any info. would be mighty helpful and appreciated.

Don't think those Martini drawings exist, at least, never heard of them.
Both are common enough, you might pick up an example to copy or use the de Haas books.

I know someone who put it on CAD, but that was the large-action BSA-style MArtini, so more like a full-size cadet.  Once got a receiver drawing from him, looked nice...

Receiver and breechblock would be the difficult parts to manufacture, of course.

I can have a LOT of Martinis, in all sorts of sizes. I can give you accurate measurements of all you need.  I even built a receiver from scratch if you are interested (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I am more than willing to give you any help you need

I've found that, even better than a set of plans, is an example of the action, that you intend to build. That way it is easy to recheck a part, if it doesn't fit quite right.
Martini Cadet actions are readily available and relatively inexpensive.

Chipmaker, I can tell you from experience that there is a small but valid difference in the dimensions of the Cadet actions as made by BSA and Greener. Parts are not interchangeable. Admittedly the BSA ones are more common, but Greener produced a lot of "unmarked" and unfinished actions for the provincial gun trade.

This does not take in consideration the actions made in Belgium that sometime use metric fasteners

You are correct that there are significant differences in dimensions of the various small Martini actions but that isn't an issue for the builder, because the first step is to select which small Martini to build and the dimensions automatically follow from this decision.
A friend and I wanted to build a Martini Cadet action and decided to model the BSA version, which has the Francotte patent inner frame. After completing the frame, we tested about 10 BSA Cadet actions and found that the internal parts all functioned perfectly, within our frame. So within a given maker and I suppose time frame, there is some interchangeability.
