Not an expert, but have had 8620 plate TIG welded with mild steel. Seemed to work and not show in the casehardening.

Yes I second the mild steel rod. It is not perceptible in the case coloring.

Google is your friend. 8620 tig rod is available. 
I would only worry about it if real strength were necessary 
for your part.
