The Douglas barrel on my CPA shoots the Norma Match better than most anything else. It's second choice is Lapau Midas, and it will get along with SK Rifle match if that's all you have.

That is a very nice looking and shooting rifle.
The best .22 LR Match ammunition I've ever had was a lot of Fiocchi Pistol Match two decades ago. I've shot several lots of Fiocchi Pistol Match since then without the same result.
Currently, SK Long Range Match is shooting best in my three BSA Martini rifles. I discovered this and bought several more bricks of the same lot.

Thanks Bud I've just picked up few boxes of Long Range Match and look forward to ringing it out

Yes, a nice rifle and mine is very similar (but with a loop lever). Same scope (mine is a 10x). My CPA, with a 24" Shilen rachet-rifle barrel, is also a fan of Norma Match. I weigh-sort it to remove flyers. It doesn't shoot quite as good as Midas+, but it was half the price. Another bonus with the Midas+ is it doesn't need weigh-sorting. I wasted an hour doing so and found they all weighed the same. I recently got a brick of Lapua's Xact and it shoots even better than the Midas+. If I had not jerked a shot (a 9) and then made a bad wind call (a 7) I would have shot a 297/300 at 200yd with the Xact. Like the CPA rifle, good stuff, but not cheap.

I’m building a .22 bpcr on a Winder action and a heavy Winchester 3 or 3 1/2 octagon profile. It a 4 groove ratchet barrel. What would you fellows say that is excellent accuracy from the current bunch of match grade .22’s for 100 & 200yards, one MOA or better? Leaving wind out of the equation.
Thanks Richard

Richard - Considerably better than 1moa, assuming that it is a Shilen rachet-rifled (only barrel maker that offers ratchet-rifling that I'm aware of). Mine certainly is, as was the one I had on a DZ Arms 22RF Hepurn. The key will be who does the barrel install and the chamber he puts in it. If you have not picked a gunsmith, I would suggest Dan Zimmerman at DZ Arms. He does a terrific job in a timely fashion on our 22RF falling-block rifles.
My only caution would be that you carefully select the barrel profile and length. I've found it too easy to end up with a rifle that is too heavy for optimum off-hand shooting. Especially with the added weight of a scope. If only bench-rest, then no problem.

Thanks SSS, other than profiling the barrel to a 3 or 3 1/2 Winchester profile I’ll be doing my own barrel fitting and chambering. Have not decided on what piloted reamer to use and I’m leaning towards one with no rim cutting feature so I will have the option to vary depth of the chamber/leade.
Happy New Year

Can't say enough about the CPA's. Have one in 22rf with a Shilen bbl. shoots better than the fella behind it. Phenomenal accuracy at 100 and 200 yds. Was originally built to be my ultimate squirrel rifle, which it is.

Thanks Rich
I've been messing around off of cross sticks lately with it and have been having a lot of fun.

Now that you have a good start, do the follow up article with ten shot groups, and shoot a couple matches for our viewing pleasure. I have yours with a standard weight barrel due in about four to six weeks and cannot wait to shoot it.

Great looking rifle and very good shooting. Would love to see some follow up targets with other ammo and longer distance.

Following up with recent results. I continue to be impressed with the accuracy of this rifle. Off of cross sticks from the prone position with Lapua Midas+ at 100 yards I've been averaging 242 points for 10 shots. At our match this weekend I shot a personal best score 247-8x previous was 247-7x. Really motivates me to shoot that elusive 250
