Thanks but after having my Stroke my focus and concentration level is just no longer conducive to do anymore work.
I wasn't trying to put you on the spot by any means and I was just simply asking if maybe you could help him out or to possibly reply recommending somebody else.
Steve Durren might be someone who he could now talk too and maybe he can help him out as I surely I cannot.

Pardon me, I didn't mean to cause friction and striff with my post.  My intent was only to explore options on how one might make a 044 1/2 centerfire breech block, thats all.  And while I would welcome the help of a member who has the skills, equipment and willingness to assist in this effort, I did not put up my post specifically for that purpose.  As always, you guys are a great source of information and I truly do appreciate your patience and generosity in responding to the qustions I ask, regardless of how fundamental and basic they may seem.  Many thanks again for all your help!

No friction just folks trying to help you out and possibly a slight miss-understanding of intent on my behalf of which I do apologize for.

Thanks.  Is he the person who was making the casts?  Pardon me if I missed that bit of information.

Steve Durren is a gunsmith and a custom rifle builder who can make you what you need from scratch.
Rodney Storie is the fellow making the castings.

Don't forget that injury to your hand or wrist sustained a few years ago.  You're in perty bad shape, John.

To take it a step further, why is there hesitation on the part of some gunsmiths to weld shut a rimfire firing pin hole to facilitate a centerfire firing pin? That would be the simple solution in the course of converting a rimfire 044 1/2 to centerfire.

So to shift attention slightly, what are your thoughts on converting my rimfire breech block?  This was my original plan until I got a deifinate "not a good idea from the standpoint of safety" from Gail at CPA.

You are correct Joe having that lower row of bones removed in my right wrist also slowed me up a bit.

Not sure if the link will show up but I just bought one of these. My lighting is not the best out in the garage / shop and for the price. I actually ended up buying two the first one I bought for brother for his fishing use. It was so nice that I then bought one for myself to use.

I have one 44 1/2 breech block that was converted from .22 rimfire to centerfire, by an unknown gunsmith, it headspaced perfectly with my .32-20 re-bore original barrel, I’ve fired it hundreds of times, no issues whatsoever so far. I also have two original centerfire 44 1/2 breech blocks that were bushed for a smaller diameter firing pin, no problem with them either.
Possibly Gail didn’t want to do the conversion???

Not sure if this will be helpful but one might also be able to add a bushing to the breech block.
