Stockist for a Schoyen Perch Belly buttstock...?

I have been perusing Randy Wrights' book, again.  He shows a picture taken by Tom Rowe of a Schoyen built Ballard with a Perch Belly buttstock.
Is anyone stocking rifles these days with such a stock?

thanks all,

Rich

Straight-grip or pistol-grip Ballard? Wink

Cheers!

I built one from one of Rodney Storie's casting kits about 12 years ago, made the stock from a slab of myrtle using a tiny picture in an old book of single shots from Dixie Gun works. It was very comfortable for a twelve pound rifle. As I recall I made the buttplate by modifying a casting from the Rifle Shoppe, had to cut away the  top and bottom "widow's peaks" to look more like the one in the book.

That is just beautiful.  Pistol grip, please; and likely a CPA.

thanks for sharing,

This is a Schoyen stock I put on a Ballard I built up.
I think Mike Bassett, he now has all of Dave Crossno’s stock patterns, could make one for you. He’s in Oklahoma. He has done a lot of work for many of us.

Have you talked to Gail at CPA she should be able to do the work for you. Another good choice would be Steve Durren to do the work.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Looks very typical of Henry Simmons work, who did most Schoyen and some Peterson's stock work back then.

Doesn't look like anything I've seen by Simmons on a Schoyen previously? But I haven't seen enough Schoyen/Simmons stocks to say it can't be.
Those I've seen never had any of your rifles ornate carving done. Just nicely checkered on those I own, or have seen.

Makes me forget all about Schoyen patterns.  Beautiful lever!

I am referring to the one on Page 6 of Randy Wright's book.  It looks to have nearly a foot of drop.  Jim Luke had one built about 25 years ago.  I would think you shoot it off the bicep not the shoulder, and most likely just OH.

Not sure if this is what you are actually wanting or not. If so you can get from Gail at CPA.
