Can Anyone Recommend a Smith in Northern CA

Seems that a couple years ago the state started requiring gunsmiths to get a 5,000-dollar a year license to change barrels and that took a lot of guys out of the business.  Does anyone know of a good smith who can do this work in Northern California?  I don’t but I’d sure appreciate finding one!  Thanks

You might want to inquire with the gunsmithing school at Lassen Community College in Susanville, CA.

If I recall correctly, it is the oldest gunsmithing curriculum in the United States, and they have turned out a good number of excellent ‘smiths over the years.

I didn't think of that and yeah, they have been running that school up in Susanville for decades.  Thanks

Susanville is most likely under evacuation advisory by now, the DIxie fire is right on top of them and still moving along with no end in sight.

There's a fellow up in Red Bluff who is still doing work , I can dig up his number if you like.I do my own stuff but I'm not set up for chambering yet.Have to rebuild the clutch in my old Clausing.
