Looking for a stock fitter

Taking the beginning steps on having a low wall built and thought I would throw out what I was thinking and ask for suggestions.

-Low wall action barreled action from C. Sharps, using a

-28" half oct/rnd #1 barrel in 32/20 Win.

-CPA extra fancy S grip special sporting stock, with cheek piece, and light Swiss buttplate

-If Al Springer is still working when the time comes he will get the metal finishing job.

My main question is who would be a good man to...

-fit the stocks?
-checker?

I am all ears, thanks alot.

Rifleman,
As to a checkerer,I’ve used Tim Smith- Lyon a number of times on Ballards and Winchester 1885s. He does a very professional job and reasonable prices. Good turnaround times too. He advertises regularly in the ASSRA journal. His website is: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

If Al Springer is going to do the metal finishing, you should give him a call. Al has a guy he uses to fit and finish stocks, so you could send it to Al and have it all done.

Maybe, you could ask C Sharps if they would fit a stock that you provided, and just figure out specialty checkering at a later time. I would also ask C Sharps about your plan to use Snowy Mountain, they may be able to arrange those services as part of the barreled action package. It's only thoughts, an sorry if you had already tried that.
