Arthur Corbin Gould was the editor of The Rifle and Shooting and Fishing.  He died in December, 1903 at age 53.  Does anyone know the cause of death?

Even in the 1946 Samworth reprint of Gould's "Modern American Rifles", a Mr. Kahrs writes a 5 page summary of A.C. Goulds life and accomplishments, and only says he passed on December 15, 1903. He was born in Boston and moved to New York, so it might be possible to start in those areas to narrow the search.

As a well-respected target shooter with a pistol, he also wrote Modern American Pistols, which Samworth also reprinted.  So perhaps he was famous enough for his obituary to appear in the New York Times.  If so, that paper has an on-line obituary archive that goes 'way back.
