Now that I am retired, I have time to do the projects I have thought about. The one time I took a button buck with a cast bullet, I had to walk up on him and administer the coup de grace, very bad. I decided I needed a larger caliber.
This old Swiss martini has been in the gun room for many years, couldn’t figure how to mount a scope without drilling & tapping. The  rib on the barrel measured .020 less than 16mm. CZ 527 rings are for a 16 mm rib. Worth a try, they clamp on tight, pushed the rear ring up against the front sight to prevent any forward movement do to recoil. The scope is a Leupold 2.5x LER. The rifle is 9.3x53 Swiss, about the same power as a 358 Winchester . I formed the brass from 7.5x55 Swiss. Loading a 220gr RN. Starting load is 23.5 gr of IMR4227. Looking forward to the range when it cools off.

Are those bases for claw mounts that I see?  If so, you might check the German Gun Collectors site; I'm pretty sure there's at least on person in the US who custom-makes rings for such things.

Have only fired it a few times. It worked fine. There is a 9.3x53r, I assume it was chambered for the rimless version because of availability of surplus ammunition. I don’t know if it will eject the spent cartridge if the action is opened sharply or not, I intend to try next trip to the range. I hope to take a whitetail with it this fall.

Swiss cartridges based on the 7.5X55 Swiss round have a rim that is just a couple of thousand's larger than the base.
One way that they handled extraction is to machine a lip on the extractor and allow the lip to push the extractor back, until the lip could fall into the cartridge groove.
In the attached pictures, the extractor can move .040" laterally, as the 7.5X55 cartridge is inserted. With a brisk opening of the action, the cartridge is actually thrown clear of the action.

The extractor does spring to the side when the cartridge is inserted.

How come this post shows up on my computer when I click on ugly Duckling but does not show up when I click on Hunting with single shots.
The same thing happened with the post I did and I thought it was because the Moderator thought I was telling Porky Pies about the magic Dragonfly and pulled my post.

Nero, some funny things are happening with my laptop too. For example if I login, all I can see are the three sections down at the bottom unless I use the back button at the top and then I'll see everything. Another example, is right now I can see Pavogrande in the all topics section but when I click on the for sale section, he's not there. I have no idea why this is happening.

Now this really is weird, just switched on my old lap top to the ASSRA site and there is the ugly duckling under the hunting section but with no pictures though.
The post I made about my light weight hunting rifle is also there but again no photo.
Will have to ask my grand kids if they can explain and report back.

I use three different machines to view this site- no pictures show up if the machine I'm using isn't signed on. That happens that I get disconnected on one and forget to note that when I change back to that ,puter.
