CPA Rifles supplies the plugged case .25-20 SS breech seating tool.

Put bullet in rifle breech.
Insert plugged case to push bullet into rifling.
Extract breech seater and then insert loaded case behind inserted bullet.
Yes your 1885 block has enough camming to push the bullet in.
Ready to fire.

Works great with a Stevens, but how would that work with a High Wall?

I'm confused? Since the High Wall block travels almost straight up vertically, how can it push the bullet into the bore to seat it with the case hanging out of the chamber?

The block has a slight radius at the top to force a round. Doesn't take much to defeat it.

Val I shoot High Walls with Pope Taperd bullets. They will seat nearly all the way with just a loaded case. But they end up in an unreamed throat hanging out  some
where between 3/32" and maybe 1/8". Now a Hiwall breech block has I think almost 7 degrees Taper on the Face. Might be  5% Degrees, Memory? This will Cam the round to a good finish position. I have a number of Hiwalls in basicly original condition and they all handle the Pope bullets in the same way. Now this might not be a good enough Breech Seat for Bench Rest shooting but for me shooting offhand I am OK with it. HTH FITZ, OLD TUCK. Smiley

I checked the CPA website, and they recommend a cam action tool to load the 25-20ss Hi Wall.  Does anyone make such a tool?

Jerry Cleave works out of his home. Vall has his contact information as does Jerry Hartwig who should be passing it onto you shortly. Vall also has one of his seaters that he can also post a picture of.
I believe he also goes by slowshooter on this site?

Here you go I found Jerry Cleaves contact information.

Jerry Cleave's phone number is  559-338-2357. That's a CA number so please call during the appropriate hours. Leave a message if there's no answer and he will return your call.

He goes by Slowshooter here on the forum, but his phone is the best way to contact him.

All pricing will be discussed when you talk with him. As far as I'm concerned his pricing is a true bargain for the quality of the product that you will receive.

He also makes a very nice re-decapper.

I have two of Jerry Cleave's breech seating tools, and you wont ever be disappointed with what he builds. They are true works of functional art!
