I think it would be easiest for you to just make .25 RF cartridges from .17 WSM, then you wouldn’t have to modify your rifle. I have an 044 1/2 in .25 RF, and a 44 1/2 .25 RF, both with excellent bores, I enjoy shooting them both with .17 WSM made into .25 Stevens. You can also use .27 caliber nail gun loads and breech seat the bullets.

My 25 RF has a .257 groove diameter. Several other people have mentioned the same. 

I'm shooting the nail gun loads and airgun bullets. My only 25 bullet mold is too heavy.
