Cerakote / Anodizing

At the Q this year and shooting a Unertl scope for the first time, It was hard to read the lines with the bright glare off the shiny finish.  I looked at DZ mounts that are black with white lines and they seemed much easier to read.  Did a search for Cerakote and found a gunsmith within 5 miles of me that does this.  Do you think it's worth a try.  Has anybody tried anodizing the aluminum mts?  The barrel looks like stainless steel and may not annodize.  Your thoughts?

Being and old school type myself I can see why you ask this question .
The first stainless barrel I had done it took a lot of soul searching to have it ceracoated . Well that was several years ago and the rifle has been through a fair number of competions and it still looks the very best .So jump in and get it done !
The way I do it , and this is only a suggestion is to have the barrel done in Ceracoat and do all the steel pieces in hot caustic bluing The contrasts look nice . At the end of the day the Ceracoat finish is durable

Myself I would probably just make a piece similar to what some folks use to block their none shooting open eye with to block out the rear mount. It can be cut out of a plastic coffee can lid and still be flexible enough to still be able to use the adjustments. I would also do so with a means to easily clamp it on or off depending on when it is needed. This would also keep the scope in its original condition.
