Ruger speed hammer?

Do any of the old timers know if Frank Zika ever actually made his  lightened hammers for the Ruger? I have most of his G-code files and wondered if it is worth the effort to resurrect this part.

Thank you,
Charles

Would you happen to have a picture of the original and the speedlock hammer.

Back when I bought my Ruger, I drilled a few holes in the actory hammer and called it good.  I did install  a Moyers trigger though.

Would a lightened hammer make much sense in a #1 if all it was used for is hunting?

I seriously doubt it. It doesn't really make much sense for anything but semi-serious benchresting.
I have a couple in my guns and I don't see a great deal of difference between them and the ones with a factory hammer.

Did you also add the high speed hammer spring or did you just replace the hammer.

When Frank Zika was developing the speed and the slightly heavier hunting speed hammers, he had me set up my No. 3 on the bench with the factory hammer, and without touching the rifle other than the trigger, dry fire it at a target at 100 yards and observe the movement of the crosshairs on the target. I then repeated the test with both new hammers, all three with the heavier spring.  The most movement was with the stock hammer, the least with the lightest. The purpose of the test was to see how much the rifle would move with the three hammers when DRY FIRING, which should equate over to better accuracy (less rifle movement) when actually shooting it. In my case, it did give me better consistency on the target.

I also did the same with a 32-40 built on a Ruger #3 action and found it to be beneficial and the trigger a Canjar set. At the time I purchased the hammer and the spring from the E. Arthur Brown Company.
