Scope Repair - Who and How Was Your Experience

Since the subject of scope repair came up on the sell and trade forum of this site, and not wanting to drift the post even further off topic, I thought I’d put it up here, on the gunsmithing forum.  I have a Redfield 3200 needing repair.  Who is out there doing this work.  I have seen Parson’s website for years but it doesn’t sound like that operation is too functional these days.  Does that leave Iron Sight as the only game in town?  I’d like to hear your opinions and experiences.  Thanks

I recently had Iron Sight clean and change reticle on a Unertl Programmer.  $125 and 4 months, excellent work.

It does sound like Ironsight is pretty much the only game in town to me.  Thanks!

Well there are others including Optical Services Co in NM.  This is Bill Ackerman’s shop now run by his daughter Cheryl and they take care of most of your scope needs short of major mechanical repairs. Back when Weaver scopes were a major player Ackerman was the man and like Parson had the reputation with benchrest and prairie dog crowd. They work on pretty much all of the better scopes, Lyman, Unertl, Redfield, Weaver etc . Excellent work, fair pricing and they communicate.  Like anybody with specialized talents there is a wait. Good luck
