I would have to agree, for me the gold is out of place, and the engraving a little over the top. But there is someone somewhere, who is drooling over it!!!!

I am seldom very fond of any rifle that's engraved. Presentation bits can be intriguing, but not my sort of thing.
An ivory-gripped, engraved Single Action on the other hand.............................

If it is not engraved, it's just a collection of parts coming down the line and assembled by a mechanic who is thinking about getting to his beer.

I always liked the Hepburn you had chiseld, Vall. It is restrained enough to have a dignity, rather than the gaudy appearance that some have. 
Not all engraved guns are displeasing to me, but the conservative sort will usually be the one that makes the best impression on me. I do realize the amount of work that it takes to produce the squiggly lines- even more to do it at a very high standard. 
And, I guess that oneatatime thinks that GT's stuff is just done on the trip to the next beer break, since they aren't often engraved. Oh, well.

Vall your Hepburn is a great example of having just enough to fully compliment the rest of your rifle.

Prefer original style too. One of my CPA actions as received from Ken Burklow & reassembled. Ken went to some length researching original Stevens engraving. This actions design is from an original he borrowed. 

I questioned the differences from original. Ken said it was and still is common to order engraving to suit a dollar budget. Tight budget little less, more to spend more engraving. Original rifles rarely identical depending on the engraver and coverage desired. Similar in general design not carbon copy’s

It's actually got more engraving than I asked for back when I had it done, but I still like it. I met with Dale Woody and had discussed having the action engraved, color cased, and the barrel rust blued. I told him just some light engraving on each side, and my initials on the top barrel flat above the chamber. When he brought it back it was both sides, the top of the receiver ring, the trigger guard, lever, lower and upper tangs, and out on the barrel on the top three flats. And the E. Remington & Sons on the barrel.
I'm not sure how he did it all, but it cost me $450 for all the work, including the color case and rust bluing. I think he thought I was disappointed when he handed it to me because I just stood there dumb founded! When I could finally speak I asked if he was certain I didn't owe him more?
Of course that was probably 15 years ago? But even then it was crazy cheap.
