Who can read Badger? ... barrel codes that is ...

I have a barrel blank with a receipt dating back to 2007. The bore is perfect. What would this bore / groove diameter and rate of twist be appropriate for?

I have a 14 twist Shilen that shoots a 218g B&D 1.25" long very well. How many grooves?

If you are asking about cartridge, 32-40 ( and others ) Twist rate one in 14, you would be able to use rather heavy bullets, depending on shape, length and weight. Many variables involved, type of shooting, cast bullets or jacketed etc, etc. A little more information, and you will no doubt get more opinions.

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

I believe it's aa .314" bore, .321" groove, and a 1:14" twist. It could be appropriate for a number of .32 calibers if you're shooting a fairly heavy bullet.

I am sure Marlinguy meant 315 bore? and I want to thank him for repeating my post, making sure the thick headed didn't miss anything. It being a Badger ( Ernie Stahlman sp barrel ) more than likely meant for a 32-40.

32-40 would be a good choice or a 32-20 CPA, 32 Miller Long or Short or RKS etc. if you are found of small capacity cases. But it also depends on what your own intended use might be and us not knowing.
