I have a Rolling Block that has a half octagon barrel with the last several inches of the forearm bedded with accuglass.  The screw holding the forearm on is actually a swivel stud.  The rifle has been shooting great and I have removed the forearm several times for various reasons and when I put it back this last time I tightened the stud so that the sling swivel would be 90 degrees to the stock and it was really firm.  The rifle shot patterns so I cleaned the bore with JB Paste, then Cowboy Blend, then a copper removing solvent as I have been shooting jacketed bullets getting ready for a bear hunt.  I shot a few rounds after cleaning with poor results so I loosened the forearm 1/2 turn and that really helped but the forearm is somewhat loose.  The rear of the forearm is not in contact with the receiver.  My thought is that the forearm needs to be bedded again but my first action might be to loosen it up and slide a flexible piece of plastic maybe two inches wide into the barrel channel and tighten it up.  What do the "big boys" do to the forearms to make their rollers shoot better?   Thanks.  Tom

If you use the Silicone put one wrap of Saran Wrap on the barrel and the Silicone won't stick to it. Thickness is so minor it will not have any ill effect to the finished fit.
