Wes,
Things do look good!  I like the round to octagon transition you did, we did one similar to that on a single shot pistol, the transition takes a little to get use to but it grows.  It's all about doing something different that gets attention and makes it yours.
I have a barrel that I'm building for a WR '97 and to make it different it's going from a half octagon to an ovate with a rib -all one piece.  May have bit off more than I can chew, but the world of CNC's changes things a little. Wink
Another twist I saw that has my attention for this build was a British fella laminated several odd shaped pieces of different walnut together to make a blank and then used a duplicator to carve out the stock- another rabbit hole that I've went down...

The case making is another process all in itself - what a way to consume time... Smiley  I've had hours and days disappear by making reamers, dies and brass Grin
It'll be interesting to hear how this shoots.
Greg
