	Thanks SLD. The old rifle got used at Butte yesterday at a Western Safari Challenge match. Had not shot it for a few years. Left my pad at home so my shoulder got perty sore by the end of the day. No coon targets but it was a fun but long day of shooting steel plates at various distances from 70 to 440 yards. We started about 10AM and finished up about 6 in the evening.

	Guess they don't have much if any minimum power levels for rifles used in their match? A .40-50SS is a nice cartridge, and your hard rubber buttplate should make it even more manageable. Lot's of shooting to be there 8 hrs. huh?

	Going to use the Coon Ballard at the local BPCRS match this weekend if I can get ammo loaded in time. I had trouble seeing targets at the Western Safari Challenge match. Did some snooping and found out the Shaver Hadley eyecup Buffalo Arms sells for the Frank Zika sights has a .218X40 thread. So I got to thinking maybe I had a rifle with a Shaver Hadley eyecup. I did and it was on a Ron Heilman sight on my Hepburn. It fits my Ballard sight perfect. So now the Coon Ballard has a barrowed DS breechblock and a Shaver eyecup. It's going to work out fine. It should. And rumor has it there will be no wind at the match. And I will be taking along my sissy pad.

I've been swapping and re-swapping on a Peterson I changed levers and stocks on and finally slipped a piece of stainless shim inside where the heel on the block wedges inside the tang. Works great and it is trapped so won't go anywhere but I'll be danged if I can get back to the combination of lever, lever screw and correct link to get the lock up where I want it without that shim. Gonna list it so would like to have got back to the original combination. Starting to think I misplaced that correct link.

	Seems like if the correct screw is not replaced it's to dern tight. Like the screw that attaches the link to the lever. Never had to swap links. The DS block fits several of my Ballards. The # 9 matching block for the rifle has a real nice trigger but if you squeeze real slow it catches on the half cock. Keeps the shooter honest but pesky to deal with.

	Thanks for the feedback. Mine had a pope style lever that went with the other stock. The lever had a worn lever screw... changing things enough to change the link requirement with this lever and link.

	It is surprising that just a screw size can change BB fit so much. Nice to know though, that a different/new link is not always required.

	I think I've found one Ballard that wouldn't be fixed by simply replacing the two link screws, and the lever screw. Sometimes just the lever screw did the job.
