MVA highwall build

I just finished a highwall built on a MVA action, Ron Smith barrel, Treebone wood.  I think this will be a very nice rifle.  This one is in 45-70.

Rex,
Very nice build!
So you talked Ron into a Chrome moly or is it a SS that you blackened?  Either one, should be a great shooter.  Have several and they all perform exceptionally well.  Let us know how it shoots.

Thanks,

I have checkering tools but need more practice before I tackle a nice piece of wood like that.  Some day, checkering would be nice.

It is a chrome moly barrel, we talked Ron into making a bundle of them.  I have about 4 45 cal, 2 for 32-40, one for 32-20 and one in 38-55.  Lots of building ahead just to chew through those ones.

I did the casehardening, this is my second MVA and both casehardened very nicely.  The first was a straight grip, 38-55 Ron Smith barrel and it shoots like crazy right off the hop.

I wish the import fees and taxes to bring these actions into Canada wasn’t so much.  I would build more if I could.

I'd like that one for myself. Good taste in all your choices.

I wish you guys would stop posting pics of your beautiful single shot rifles. Every time you do I get a serious case of the wants, needs, gotta get me one of those or other expressions. Champagne tastes and a beer pocket book. Course you all know I'm kidding but jeeze some really beautiful rifles come up on my screen. Frank
