Another Striker Action

8620 steel, Sort of like a Brochardt with a camming breech block, but cocks more like a Martini.
GT, Greg's, safety, open safe, closed fire. Probably a dedicated bench rifle.
Interesting feature, Main spring serves as a lever spring, but requires a stop spring to hold loading position.
Still needs some tweaks and polishing, but will get there eventually.
Chuck

Great design with very minimal working parts being a big plus.

Chuck,
Nice work!
I like the simplicity of it, no camming plates and dog ears.  The camming action?  Does the breech have an angle similar to the high wall?
The martini function is hard to beat but making the pieces haven't called loud enough to make yet (have a Martini frame that is calling me)   Looks to be enough spring for great lock time.  The set triggers look to be somewhere between Ballard and Winchester?
Have you decided on a caliber yet?

Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Externally, the action looks very much like the Comblain!
I have the small version (Eclipse) and sure would like to convert to a striker type.
Thanks for the parts view!

I've owned a couple Comblains, and both had the worst triggers of any old single shots I've ever owned. Neat guns, and always thought they'd be helped tremendously by set triggers.
One a Belgian rook rifle, and one a full size military.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. Fun project, but did not go exactly as planned.
Will probably end up as a .32-40 bench rifle, slightly more modern than traditional, wider fore end and flatter rear support.
Breech block has a five degree cam angle, similar to a Winchester. Generally use Ballard set trigger basic geometry when building set triggers.
Spring is commercial. .055" wire, marginal, designed for .070" wire.

Styling is not my strong suit. Pictures help
Shoulders could be lowered and matching radius over the barrel. Larger radius at the rear of the shoulder would look better.
Lower front could be more rounded, similar to a Brochardt sporter.

Action seems to work well, but one of those you would like to start over. Could be designed a little more compact and easier to build.
Thanks again,  Chuck

I think that honor would go to the Springfield Trapdoor.

At least a trapdoor trigger is an easy fix. The Borchardt and rolling block are right in there too.

Very cool! I daydream about designing an action but never get up the nerve to start drawing. Can't wait to see it finished and hear how it behaves....
