	Subsequent pass. The bore is a bit rusty but there is still rifling showing.

	I think I need to switch to a high speed steel lathe bit for this steel. It is still a bit rough looking. Do you guys think I'm just trying to polish a turd by trying to bring this old rifle back to life? I have it soaking in white vinegar since about 7 last night. Will go and take it out to see what's left in a bit. Will keep you posted.

	Since it's only time involved, not much to lose. But I guess it depends on how deep you get into it in parts, and what it originally cost to purchase? It's easy to get a rifle done, and sometimes look at what you spent and realize you could have purchased a nice gun for the same money.

	You might try soaking it an Evapo-Rust® using the same process as is being used on the below link. (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links)

St the rate I'm going to have more in color case hardening and sights than anything else. I am reluctant to spend a fortune on sights because I have the feeling that would be like putting a scope on a sling shot.

And another thing to consider is the fact that unless I can get it working properly and shooting decently, it is not worth anything. Certainly not worth what I gave for it. But I honestly didn't know so I can use that as my defense. 🤣
