Nice looking action Bruce! Right down to the detailed rollstamps on the side!

Bruce, Very nice action. It is the butt stock on a No. 7 that gives me nightmares.

They always looked like they'd be pretty fragile with the vertical pistol grip, and the way the normal grain would flow?

There is a pattern out there for the #7 that Jason has.  It makes the stocking much easier.  Since the action can't really handle any of the bigger calibers, the strength with just straight flow of grain into the pistol grip area gives it plenty of strength to work with.  Mine is in a 25-21 and is a real pleasure to shoot.

Bruce, need to ask who Jason is?  Don’t usually use precarved stocks so not up on who does it, but might interest me on this one.
Thanks

I don't remember Jason's name here, but his email is jason.brewer89@yahoo.com.  I have done stocks from scratch, but I find it is worth the money to have a duplicated one to start with.  I think it especially true in the case of a #7 rolling block.

Thanks for the info Ken.  I am on the fence as to the wood, have three blanks in my shop that one may become the wood for this gun.  When I get this spring working it should be downhill from there on this build so then the wood will come into the mix.  Bob
