I have a Ruger #1 with a Shilen 6.5X55 barrel and it is a really fine rifle. I installed a Jard trigger and actually like it better than the 2 Kepplingers that I have It seems to have a more crisp break. The trigger offered by EAB is made by Jard. I ordered 4 directly from Jard and received a discount, that was several years back.

I bought a very nice #1 here in 223 with an 8" twist.  I plan to rechamber it, and am debating whether to go 22-250 or 220 Swift.  I built a 22-284 many years ago, but it was a bit too much fun, and a barrel eater.

JARD trigger, eh?

thanks gentlemen,

Rich

ISS        You might consider a 5.6x50 or 222 mag. both good and inherently accurate rounds, and easier on barrels. If you are looking for a longer range varmint round, your choices would be better, as you could take advantage of the 8 twist and heavier bullets with better long range ballistics, and the capacity to get them there.
