I ended up putting it on my Ballard .22 #3 barrel  with the regular Buckhorn Marbles barrel site just a beautiful sight picture.

Mixed parts or not, that is a very attractive rifle!

Sure beats a brass hammer and drift punch. And good looking to boot. Maybe someone will see this and take up the cause?

They were made.....a nice copy of the Lyman No.5 combo was made by Parts Unknown and later as Red River sights - used to be available from Buffalo Arms. Once you trim/shape that post to suit your tastes it works quite well.
The Lyman No.7 Wind-gauge sight with the flip-up pin head or post is also another option but they are getting real hard to find.

Thanks for making me check my real old Lyman catalog & Tom Rowe's "American Rifle Sights". I was wrong on both counts  . The Red River looks to be a copy of the No.8 sporting wind-gauge while the other is the No.17a target wind-gauge with flip-up globe or aperture.
That should teach me not to rely on my rapidly fading memory

It's a neat front sight. I would suspect that it may work best with a barrel mounted notch rear sight, rather than a tang sight. When I get a chance to shoot a flip sight, it stays on the mini globe choice as I can use that ring to center things up. A post seems to get really lonely with a lot of real estate around it when viewed through a tang peep. It's only a thought, but I could make use of a decent replica of a no. 18.
