Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Fantastic rifle Joe! Of course any Farrow is a very neat gun, but such an unusual one is even neater!
Prior to his relationship with Bullard, Milton Farrow was closely involved with John Marlin, and gave a lot of input to Marlin on the design of their schuetzen model rifles. The buttplates used on Rigby, and Union Hill Ballards are noted to be Farrow's design. And the buttplate on Joe's Farrow appears to be the same design.

That is a wonderful rifle for sure but I was hoping it would have one of Farrows multi groove bores.
The caliber is also really neat.
Thanks for sharing.

From my observations, some do and others do not. Look at the photos in all the "standard" references on single shot rifles and at Joe Ruth's book.

I suppose we'll just have to trust you that that's really a Farrow rifle with a cheek plate. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here but you really should post a picture of the entire piece. In your own thread? Or a link to a previous thread?
