New life for low wall

Old 32 rim fire with crusty bore. I installed a liner in a spare barrel,  new wood, converted breech block to center fire and slow rust blued the barrel. It is now a .218 bee.
A big thanks to the folks on this website  for sharing their knowledge and tips. It is satisfying to save these old rifles and put them back in service.

Super nice job! Great save of a classic low wall, especially like your caliber choice! Just gives me more motivation to get mine done as well, thanks for the post.

Wow. Like the old saying with a twist. You can make a silk purse from a sow's ear. Very well done.    Krag

Well done, SLD.  At one time folks were doing a lot of this and some very nice rifles (along with some really ugly ones) were built.  It seems that not as many real craftsmen are willing to take the time and effort to give these old veterans the attention they deserve.  Your rifle is an inspiration.  I bet the editor of our Journal would love an article from you outlining how you did it.

How does that 218 Bee shoot for you?

The 218 bee shoots really good. H4198 under a 50 gr hornady sx bullet and most of the varmints around here are running scared.

My #2 roller, in 32 wcf, shoots great as well. The TJ liners that I used are first rate. Just another bit of wisdom that I picked up on this site.

Very nice.
I have a question. I am restoring (rebuilding) a few low walls too and wonder what you ended up doing for finish on the action frame and parts?

I bet it sure feels good to get this rifle back into shape!
