Thanks. I love anything in a cased set, but of course a Ballard is my preference. 

This one has a little provenance, but only back as far as the previous owner. It's a Schoyen Ballard I also found at Denver CGCA show, in .32-40 caliber. 
I looked at it for 3 days, and it was cheap. But ugly as sin with numerous holes and dovetails in the barrel, plus hot bluing all over. A lot of guys I know also passed, because the seller didn't tell us it had the case, with scope and accessories.

The Hereford hide case makes me chuckle.

Looked like this when I bought it.

Then I stripped the receiver, fixed all the extra holes and dovetails in the barrel, and had Al Springer CCH the action, and rust blue the barrel.

It belonged to a dentist who traded dental work for it.
