1871 Mauser for some deer

Second morning of season, and I found an opportunity to fill a couple antlerless tags for some needed meat for the freezer.  Two deer, two shots, and my daugther is sad that there is no heart to eat.  Maybe I need to stop aiming there.    Undecided

Great job.  That is a neat looking rifle.  Could you please post a few pictures of the rifle?  What caliber is it and what was your load?  Tom

Thanks, it was my first ever project like this.  What is the German equivalent to "Bubba?"

As to the other questions above... it is a 11.15x60r.  I cast a .450" lead pill @ 400gr.

Like many Americanisms that have no common German equivalent, "bubba" has been adopted as-is.  At worst, saying about a fellow "Er ist bibba" would almost surely be understood to mean something uncomplimentary.
