Finally got my 1874 from my FFL.

I have to say, this rifle is much more than I could of ever imagined.

The fit/finish, wood, bluing to me is amazing. Trigger is crisp. Lock up on action is solid, no slack at all

My friends who own similar Pedersoli rifles are very happy with the fit and finish, and accuracy of theirs. I'm sure once you work up a good load you'll enjoy it a lot. Even more so with the MVA sights on it!

Dave, when you work up some loads for the new rifle, consider the 530gr Creedmoor bullet with 68grs of FFg powder. Very accurate reload out to 1000yds
And BTW, Pedersoli barrels are match grade.  I have 2 Pedersoli’s

One of my friends has a Shiloh Sharps and a Pedersoli, bith 1874 models, and ssimilar to yours. He shot 480 gr. Money style bullet from an Accurate mold out to 1,000 yds. and told me he liked the slightly lighter weight bullet even more than the often used over 500 gr. bullets.
I got a couple hundred rounds of his loaded ammo after he passed away, and shot it in my Hepburn in .45-70 and it was extremely accurate in my rifle out to 1,000 yds. also. I ended up having Tom at Accurate cut me the same mold as he did for my friend since I liked it so much.
