Can't change my avatar (Read 2429 times)

	Every so often my avatar disappears. No biggie, up to now I've just fixed it in my Profile. Happened this morning. I assigned a new file from my hard drive, but used an uncropped photo. Looks awful, but the big issue is that I can't get it to accept a replacement. Is there something I'm not doing?

	Good question. I just tried, and was able to change your avatar successfully. Make sure the file you are choosing for upload is 100KB in size or less, or it wont be accepted. There are some online image tools that can help you get the file shrunk down if its too big.

	Hi Josh Files I've tried to upload are 37, 16, and 28 kb respectively. Just tried again and no soap. Can you try any one of the attached? Phil W.

	Yes, but it's an uncropped version of the image that I pulled up by mistake. I cropped the image in Irfanview, saved the file and tried to reload, and that's when the trouble started. Renamed the file and tried to upload again - no luck. Tried to load other files that I've used before. No luck. I think for now I'll just go without any avatar.

	I see this when I try to set the avatar: (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links) Is it possible that there's 15 avatar files loaded on the server, and that's hit a limit? I'm gonna try editing that number down to, say 8. Phil

	BINGO! My guess that the server only allows 15 files must be correct. Selecting file 008 puts an avatar I've used before on the screen. Phil W. Now the question is: Do you have access to that directory so you can delete the surplus ones? p.s. Now I know to simply edit that pointer when my avatar disappears, rather than keep uploading new copies over and over. Thanks!

	So, delete all but number 8. I can do that if desired.
