Now I understand why Australia is referred to as "down under".

Here is a interesting picture that I had not seen before.  It was discovered Friday night while looking through the files.  It is labeled, Riverside Shooting Club, Cordova, Guadalupe Co., Tex.

I have not heard of that club before.  The location would probably be SSE of New Braunfels and W of San Antonio.

Neat. That 2nd guy kneeling to the left of the target must have a secret weapon. He didn't show it outside the case.

Back in the day when Men were wearing the proper hats in order to protect themselves. Why do I say that because my dad has had more than one skin cancer surgery. He has had most of one ear removed and reconstructed twice because ball caps simply left them unprotected from the sun.

If my eyes don't deceive me, most of those men are posing with boy's rimfire rifles.  I 'm pretty sure I see at least one Favorite and maybe a Remington # 4.  If so, do you think their sons or grandsons knew what was going on or wondered where their rifles were?

I showed the pic to my neighbor (a Texan) and voiced that same opinion and he said "heck, those are Texans and they are just really big men."

A friend of mine who is also a club member was able to darken and sharpen the photo.
It's different from any other early photos I've seen.  To my mind, the guys all look like farmers and the guns look to be either boys rifles or small sporting rifles, not target guns.

Mmm , first post for me  Smiley
I remember that shoot, I’m the one with the wide hat on the right, my son in law and daughter are also there, my daughter shot mal’s  rifle and came sixth, her first time shooting offhand
