When I was at a sporting good store the guy had some literature from my state. apparently I'm in possession of an amount of gunpowder thats frowned upon.

Craigster,
I've been hooked on this stuff for the past 15 years at least, and it's been going up in price every time I buy an eight pounder...  seems I use one of these every other year... 5744.
I recently bought eight pounds of Lovex Buffalo Rifle and I'm getting real close to the same results - some loads had to increase about 6% to get the same velocities but the groups are close in comparison and the price per pound is about half.
I've been using it in my 38-55, 40-60 Maynard, 40-65 win, 45-70, and lately in my 50-90 with promising results.
If you haven't tried it, you may want to.
Regards,
Greg

Did the cost go up or did the value of the dollar go down?  Remember the trillions of Covid script the gubmint just distributed. It sure wasn’t backed by gold.

CBA shooter,
My "Lifetime supply of 4759" is not all that large
at my age of 78.
I also have a legal design powder "magazine" for
proper storage of what I do have.

Presently all powder prices are up, so it's not just one powder. Fortunately I try to always have an excess of reloading supplies, so it hasn't affected me. But I am getting worried about large rifle primers as I'm down to about 5,000. Everything else I've got 2x-3x that amount of. But I use more large rifle primers than any of the others.

As I mentioned earlier, 38-55, 40-60, 40-65, 45-60, 45-70, 45-90, and currently my 50-90.  I never had success in smaller cases, like the 32-40.  The other thing to note, the load data always has velocities going 1300+ never had ANY luck pushing these there.  Staying 1250fps and below my accuracy was good to very good.
