If you want to start new and campaign it hard, the CPA has a slight edge.  If you are a typical ASSRA member who just shoots a few hundred or a thousand rounds a year through it and fondles it the rest of the time, and if you want something that will tie you in with the Golden Years of Single Shots, the Ballard will be the way to go.

The CPA will hold its value well, while the Ballard's value will continue to grow.  That's just the way it is.

My story and I'm sticking to it'... YMMV!

I have four 38-55 Ballards now. So, save me and buy the Ballard. Froggie's reasons are excellent.

If you are 80, go to the bank, borrow the $$$ and buy them both.
